Time Gets Away

This blog post is the precursor to the two very late posts I intended to post on time. But I didn’t. I am not saying any of this from a place of complacency. I always intend to write at least one post a week but sometimes life happens. This is not the first time I have slipped in my best attempts to stick to my self-imposed rule.

The two posts that specifically got away from me were My Year in Review 2023 and my 55th Birthday Reflection. I wonder if I will still post these. We are months into this year and my 55th year.

Too busy to post

A lot happened but you wouldn’t know this because I haven’t posted as much as I’d like. I launched my own book, celebrated a milestone in my relationship, busied myself with book markets, and watched the snow fall, melt, and fall again.

I wanted to blog about each of the things I mentioned above. But, busy got in the way. I wanted to post images of some magical sunsets and sunrises, the fluffy snow on trees. I wanted to recall the delicious food I ate and the drinks I consumed. I wanted to praise moments with the people I laughed with and shared space with.

It was a feat to balance writing, teaching, celebrating and just living—because living is a thing too if you’re going to do it well. And, Lord knows I try to do it the best I can even if sometimes I fail. Not sure if this is a failure—not meeting my quota or if it’s actually a celebration for having such a lovely life that I don’t have time to write about it. Or, is that an excuse.

In any case, here I am doing my best and it’s all I can do. It’s all any of us can do—our best. Your best (and mine) is good enough friends!

As always, thank you for reading lovelies.
