Let Me Explain

When I first started blogging, I had no idea what my focus would be. I read all the advice — endless lists of what I should do: find a niche, choose a category, define a purpose. Travel blog, wellness blog, creative blog — the suggestions blurred together. I didn’t know how that focus would find me, but I figured the only way forward was to write. If anyone happened to be interested in my words, that would be something.

So, I wrote my first post.
And someone read it.
Amazing.

I believed that through the simple act of showing up — of writing again and again — a theme would eventually reveal itself.

So I just kept going. My only promises to myself were to be engaging (never boring, if I could help it) and to post once a week — a rhythm I’ve mostly managed to keep over the years.

But, as it does, life shifted. Maybe it got in the way, or maybe I just got tired.

I’ve slowed down with blogging, for reasons that are small and ordinary — not epic, just human. Still, the ideas come. My WordPress drafts folder is crowded with beginnings. I still love storytelling, but life is a complicated machine with many moving parts.

I work full-time in education.
I’ve published five books, and more are in progress.
I try to stay thoughtful and consistent on social media — and here.
My social life is full and grounding; I’m not a shut-in artist waiting for a muse to appear. And when I can, I feed the pull toward visual art, too.

And sometimes, in the middle of it all, I wonder — is there ever truly enough time in a day?

So I remind myself: one page at a time.
I keep on keeping on.

This space — these words, these photos — are for me as much as they are for you. The images I take are mine first, but shared with anyone who pauses long enough to look. The thoughtful moments, the silly asides — they belong to both of us.

Thank you for being here, for reading, for being a soft landing place for my reflections and stories.

And as always, thank you for reading, Lovelies.
