2024 to 2025

How I feel about NYE

I am a superstitious person—especially about New Year’s Eve. I have blogged about the idea of collective consciousness and believe that this day’s energy sets a tone for the rest of the year. Also, I believe in rituals and I do a few meaningful rituals at this time to say good-bye to the previous year and to enter into a new calendar year with a positive and cleansed beginning.

My hopes and wishes for Counios and Gane

Going forward into 2025 I am excited to finish up the last book in our Counios and Gane Shepherd and Wolfe series. Wolfe’s Blood is the final story in this award-winning murder mystery series. The final novel is not done yet but the finish line is in sight which I am delighted for and incredibly proud that we are so close to concluding this story. It’s been a commitment I have taken seriously.

This year I enter into 2025 with anticipation of the creation of a new story with David. I have no idea what that might be but at the same time I don’t worry because, for me, the building of a story is one of the most exciting parts. I also look forward to the consistent duty of our morning meetings. I think that’s one of our bigger wins–that we understand the metaphorical assignments of what it takes to write as a duo.

Hopes and wishes for Angie Counios

On the personal front, I hope that My List, My Rules continues to get the attention of readers near and far and that the year I decided to do 101 things, impacts and inspires others to consider their next steps in life. How apropos for the beginning of a new year. For those who prefer an e-book My List, My Rules is officially an e-book available on Kobos, kindle, or other e-readers. The whispers I’ve been hearing (inside my own head) to turn this story into an audiobook is becoming more of a reality. It may be a journey, but with the right team, it should be a smooth road. And, yes, I’ll be the one reading it.

I love the organic nature of my creative process and although I have ideas and plans for future projects knowing they can be manipulated, and sculpted is a freeing concept. Leaving bits of my dreams and imagination open to ‘whatever‘ I’m often surprised and impressed with outcomes better than I had imagined or even expected.

Maybe my biggest hope for 2025 is some glorious surprises of the best kind. I am definitely staying open to that this year.

Good-bye and thanks

And with that, I’d like to say thank you to our consistent Counios and Gane readers, and their commitment to our stories, our invitations to book sales and markets, and our involvement in Creative Sask’s 10-year celebration. Happy birthday to them. Of all the authors they could have picked, I was pretty tickled that they picked us! I’d like to thank David for getting through all his challenges (a lot went on in his world) and I have gratitude for his commitment to our collaboration.

I’m grateful for my finalist placement with the Whistler Independent Book Awards, as well as the positive messages that continue to roll in regarding My List, My Rules. I am so happy that it is received with such love.

Lastly, to anyone who purchased a book, gifted a book, read a book, took a book out of the library, read our Counios and Gane newsletter, read my blog, got a digital copy of any of the five books I’ve written, told a friend you loved it, told me you loved it, came to a book fair, came to a market, visited Counios and Gane’s website, popped onto my Instagram, TikTok or Angie Counios Author page on Facebook, posted or reposted something about any of the books I have written or just sent out love and good vibes I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As always, thank you for reading, Lovelies, and especially at this pivot point in the calendar I am grateful. Happy New Year to you all.

All the best in 2025
