There is a list of reasons to give books as gifts. My List, My Rules: The Year A Checklist Changed My Life is the most recent book I have written. I’m extremely proud of all the books on my author roster but this one is special. It’s about the year I did 101 things in 365 days and the humorous and challenging lessons I learned from this checklist. I put Myself. Out. There. And I believe, wholeheartedly that it would make a great gift.
I thought about who might enjoy this book to help you out.
Who is this book for
If you have a friend who needs to laugh or loves to laugh, or you have a friend who has mentioned needing to get motivated, if you have a friend who needs a distraction because life is too much, or you have a friend who needs to be entertained, if you have a friend who needs to ponder life, then this may be the book for them.
If you have a friend who loves making lists and checking items off of lists, or if your friend is a go-getter, or needs to be prompted to get to the next stage whatever that may be, or if you have a friend who might need encouragement to attend therapy for their mental wellness, or if you have a friend who needs to shift their perspective this book could be the one.
If you have a person in your life who would like to recall the past safely or get a list done, or if you have a friend who loves books about the ordinary challenges of life, if you have a friend who still clings to notions from the past, or if your friend loves stories that make them laugh and cry and feel all the things that are relatable and touching, and silly this could be the book.
If you have a friend who likes the word fuck, is a little sarcastic—or maybe alot, or is currently plowing through their life like the superstar that they are (whether they know it or not), if you have a friend who enjoys a comedy with a little underlying depth and meaning, they just may enjoy this book.
If you have a friend who may be open to seeing what the journey could possibly be, that courage is not just right around the corner but right in front of them with their very next step, bravely falling forward into self-love, this could be the book for them.
If you know a person who needs motivation, inspiration, or a literary hug this could be the book.
I’ve been told parts of this book are a little like sitting down with a friend and a cup of coffee (or a friend and a glass of wine or a friend and a shot of tequila—depending on the part of the book you are reading —) and having a visit. I hope this is true.
My hope
My other hope is that wherever this book lands it makes a difference to somebody. Maybe that someone is you. After all, why not give yourself a gift.
As always, thank you for reading lovelies.
